Settled in 1793, Litchfield
is a lovely rural town just 16 miles southwest of Augusta. Settlement
occurred around it’s many ponds, lakes and streams.
It encompasses 37square miles and has a population of just
over 3100. Some of Litchfield’s attractions include
the Litchfield Fairgrounds off the Plains Road, which hosts
Litchfield’s annual fair every September. This
fun country fair boasts a large midway, and in its many barns
and show areas you will find agricultural exhibits, livestock
and animal pulling contests, as well as horse competitions.

Pond Park, leased by the Town offers fun family enjoyment.
Litchfield also shares the beautiful Pleasant
Pond with its neighbors, Richmond and Gardiner, which offers
